The aim of the studies is to combine academic growth in knowledge with vibrant growth in faith and to convey this in an understandable way. It is recommended for those who want to acquire comprehensive knowledge of biblical theology, regardless of their church affiliation, age, or educational background.
The complete programme comprises the subjects Old Testament (Prof. Dr. Seubert), New Testament (Prof. Dr. Mauerhofer), Church History (Prof. Dr. Schwanke), Practical Theology (Prof. Dr. Mauerhofer and Dr. Rady) and Missiology, Christian Apologetics and Philosophy (Prof. Dr. Seubert) and is designed to last a total of three years or six semesters. Of course, it is also possible to register and enrol for only half a year or only one semester in order to get to know the programme.
ETA Zurich is about learning in thought and growing spiritually for life and everyday life, for ministry and congregation, and this with the greatest possible theological professionalism. It is not about collecting grades, credit points or certificates. The ETA Zurich takes seriously that in the Kingdom of God school-leaving qualifications and grades do not play a role. Instead, the focus of ETA Zurich is on learning, growing and bearing fruit. Those who nevertheless wish to take exams to assess their own performance can do so and obtain a final diploma.
Classes are held in hybrid form, i.e. on the one hand as a face-to-face event, on the other hand online. Of course, it is recommended to attend the lectures directly on site. However, this is not obligatory, as all lectures are recorded and can be accessed online at any time. It is therefore also possible to start studying during the semester, as the lectures already held during the semester are available online.
The attendance events in Switzerland take place in the rooms of the Free Evangelical Church Zurich, Trittligasse 3, CH-8001 Zurich; the attendance events in Germany take place in the rooms of the Stiftung Hilfe am Nächsten, Wilhelm-Huber-Str. 14, 71566 Althütte.
Throughout their studies, students are accompanied by the professors and lecturers, so that the studies at ETA Zurich not only offer successful growth in knowledge, but also include spiritual growth.
The cost of the course is 600.- CHF/€ per semester or half-year. However, financial reasons should not be a reason to prevent you from this important education.
